You don't have to travel to West Texas to wild harvest. Take an urban hike with Desert Door.

Learn about the uses of sotol, turk's cap, prickly pear, and other native plants, as well as how to ethically wild harvest.

Starting at South Congress Hotel, our 30-minute South Austin walk is designed to show how close to home you'll find Texas plant life that you can incorporate in your day to day life.

No hike is complete without a regroup session over cocktails, so our walk ends where it starts (South Congress Hotel) where their chefs will have small bites featuring native plants for guests to try. Follow the ranch to table movement with your cocktails, as this walk includes a complimentary Ranch Water with Texas sotol.

Tickets are $25 per person and benefit Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation. Each ticket includes:

-30-minute educational walk led by Desert Door

-Small bites featuring native Texas plants to share

-1 x Ranch Water per guest (Desert Door Original Sotol, Topo Chico + Lime)

-Camp pack to take home with you

This activity has limited availability so purchase a ticket to reserve a spot. We will meet you at the library adjacent to the Lobby Bar at the South Congress Hotel starting at 5:15 PM and walk will depart no later 5:35 PM. Please look for your field guide wearing a Desert Door shirt.

Find free street parking on South Congress Ave. or pay to park in the South Congress Hotel garage.
